Dainty Flower Bookmarks {Crochet Pattern}

Hullo peeps,

Since I missed June's POTM, here's your "bonus" crochet pattern for July.

I made these flower bookmarks with finger weight yarn and I lurve them.

Now if I can just keep the small humans from yanking them out of my books ...

Here's the pattern!

You'll need:
Finger weight yarn in colors of your choice (I got mine from a thrift store, so I don't have any specifics. Sorry!)
Size D crochet hook
Yarn needle

Abbreviations
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet

dc = double crochet
tr = treble crochet

picot = ch 3, sl st in third ch from hook

Pink flower
Ch 32, sc in second ch from hook. *ch 1, skip 1 stitch, sc in next*. Repeat from * to * to end. Ch 1. Turn
In ch-1 space, *sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc*. Repeat from * to * in each ch-1 space to end. Finish off, leaving enough yarn for sewing (6-8 inches is plenty). Starting at one end, roll the crocheted piece into a flower shape. Sew with remaining yarn.

Blue flower
Ch 32, sc in second ch from hook. *ch 1, skip 1 stitch, sc in next*. Repeat from * to * to end. Ch 1. Turn. In ch-1 space, *sc, dc, picot, dc, sc*. Repeat from * to * in each ch-1 space to end. Finish off, leaving enough yarn for sewing (6-8 inches). Starting at one end, roll the crocheted piece into a flower shape. Sew with remaining yarn.

Stem
Join yarn to bottom center of flower. Ch 40. Finish off. Weave in ends. (Or if you'd like a thicker stem, ch 1, turn and sc in each ch, then finish off and weave in ends.

Leaves
Ch 8. Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Hdc, hdc dc in next, 3 dc in next, dc hdc in next, hdc, sc. Finish off. Sew to stem with loose ends.

Voila!
