Crazy Easy Kid Slippers {POTM}

So I made myself these Lizzie Slippers ...

And immediately following a certain two year old yells, "Make me some swippers too, Mom!"

How could I resist? Problem is, I've always been a little intimidated by the idea of slippers. I have no idea why. It's irrational.

Some people would say my fear of spiders is irrational, too ... to which I say NOPEY nope nope.

I faced my fear (of slippers, not creepy crawlies) and came up with this super basic pattern. Seriously, it's so easy a caveman could do it, which is a BIG plus when a two-year-old is asking you every five minutes if they're done ...

These are a toddler size 7. You can easily make them bigger with the addition of a few rows (or smaller by taking some out!).

You'll need:
Yarn in the color of your choice
A G hook
A yarn needle

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet

ROUND 1 - In magic adjustable ring, ch 3. 11 dc. Join. (12 dc)
ROUND 2 - Ch 3, dc in same. *dc in next, 2 dc in next.* Repeat from * to * around to end. Join. (18 dc)
ROUND 3 - Ch 3, dc in each stitch around. Join. (18 dc)
ROUND 4 - Repeat round 3. (18 dc)
ROUND 5 - Ch 3, dc in next 14 stitches. (15 dc)
ROUND 6 - Ch 3, turn. Dc in next 14 stitches. (15 dc)
ROUND 7 through 11 (or as many as needed for desired size) - Repeat round 6.

Finish off, leaving enough yarn for sewing (6-8 inches is plenty). Create heel by folding back edge in half and sewing together with a whip stitch.

Weave in ends.

Since you spent so little time making these guys, feel free to embellish to your heart's content. I've got a plan for these so they're more "manly". Or toddler-y. Or something.

It's a half-baked plan, but it's a plan nonetheless.
Please, PLEASE let me know if you find mistakes in this pattern.
Contrary to popular belief, I do make them. Occasionally ;)
